When you arrive at the Animal Emergency Clinic of Durham Region, you can expect our full attention to your pet’s needs. Our service will be provided with compassion, courtesy and respect.
You will be greeted immediately, and based on your pets needs and availability, we will escort you into an examination room upon arrival. Our goal is to see all of our patients in a timely manner. Although there may be times when you may have to wait, we appreciate your patience and understanding as the most critical patients must be seen first. Tea and coffee is available in our reception area while you wait.
Your pet will first see a Registered Veterinary Technician who will ask questions about your pet’s medical history, current condition and the reason for your visit, gathering data for the doctor.
One of our veterinarians will then examine your pet, ask you further questions and may recommend diagnostic tests if needed. Once the tests have been run, which are run in the practice, your doctor will discuss a possible diagnosis and treatment plan if warranted.
Upon discharge the veterinarian or technician will discuss home care instructions and provide you with educational information.
This is a great time to ask questions. Our veterinary team wants to make sure you’re completely comfortable with the information we’re providing.
Our Client Care team at the front desk will process your payment and print you a copy of the veterinarians notes about your pet. They will also fax a copy of the notes to your family veterinarian for their records.
Please note: Our goal is to see all our clients and patients in a timely fashion however there will be times where the unexpected will create delays. Please be assured your pet is very important to us and we will minimize the wait as much as possible.
